Moctezuma Castro represents domestic and foreign business entities in secured and unsecured, bilateral and syndicated lending transactions involving Mexican obligors, guarantors and assets. We have also participated in credit and corporate restructuring projects.

The firm also renders legal advice for the incorporation of Mexican corporations, companies and partnerships, their transformation, merger, spin-off, dissolution and liquidation. Additionally, we keep our clients’ corporate books making sure they comply with their corporate obligations. We offer strategies for the solution of controversies between shareholders, directors and related corporate entities, as well as the design of legal schemes for joint ventures between Mexican and foreign entities, and real estate projects.

Our corporate and transactional experience also extends to all corporate disciplines, including private and public mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory and regulatory compliance before federal, state and local government entities.

We also provide advice regarding customs regulations, formalities and business practices to be followed when exporting equipment and machinery to Mexico

We have broad experience in key aspects of federal, state and local government procurement. We have successfully represented corporations at the bid, proposal phase and award of government agreements. We have also provided advice on bid processes.

For instance, we acted as lead counsel for a public Mexican company in negotiations and execution of contracts with the Mexican Federal Government for the organization of Mexico’s Bicentennial Independence Celebrations.

On a different matter, we acted as lead counsel to a Mexican publicly traded entertainment company in public procurement proceedings before Mexican federal and state government entities related to tender and direct award processes regarding the organization of the United Nations Climate Change conference held in Cancun, Mexico in 2010.

Moctezuma Castro has represented a large and diverse clientele, from closely held to public corporations, on the defense side for over 25 years in all kinds of civil and commercial trials related to contractual breach, guarantee foreclosures, damages, claims, real property conflicts, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, as well as submission of evidence relevant in foreign trials.
